Made for Gravel. Discover Rinos Sandman 7

Sandman 7

Shimano GRX820. Shimano's Premium Mechanical Gravel Groupset.

The GRX820 represents Shimano's top-tier mechanical gravel technology, combining innovations from both Ultegra road and Deore XT mountain bike lineups

Twenty-four gears through a 2×12 drivetrain. The 48-31T crankset paired with an 11-34T cassette gives you tighter gear steps than 11-speed systems—you're shifting less to find the right cadence.

The Shadow RD+ rear derailleur features an adjustable clutch mechanism. Dial it up for rocky singletrack, back it off for smooth roads.

The shifter hoods use a matt-textured, anti-slip coating with a flattened lever blade for better grip in wet conditions.

This is where Shimano's gravel engineering becomes visible in your riding, not just on paper.

Sandman 7

Gearing Built for Variable Terrain.

The 48-31T crankset uses a 2.5mm wider chainline than standard road groupsets, designed specifically for gravel to improve mud clearance and accommodate wider tires.

The 48-tooth outer ring gives you higher top-end speed than the Sandman 6's 46T when the gravel opens up. The 31-tooth inner ring paired with the 34-tooth largest cog still climbs without issue.

Twenty-four distinct gear combinations with smaller steps between ratios. Rolling terrain, technical climbs, fast descents, you maintain cadence without constantly hunting for the right gear.

Sandman 7

Twenty Four Speeds.

The GRX820 on the Sandman 7 delivers twelve-speed precision, tighter gear spacing, and better component longevity, this is where Shimano's engineering takes a measurable step up.

Same TORAY T800 carbon frame. Lighter at 9.6kg versus 9.8kg.

The difference: Ice Technologies brake rotors with aluminum cores that dissipate heat without warping, Servo Wave brake action for better modulation, ceramic pistons in the calipers for heat resistance, adjustable clutch tension.

Components that perform after months of hard riding, not just the first few weeks.

Bikepacking with the Sandman

Twenty-six mounting points across the frame give you tons of options for attaching bags, racks, extra water bottles, and whatever gear your adventure requires.

The wide 40mm tires come with reinforced sidewalls to protect against punctures on rough terrain.

Hydraulic brakes give you confident stopping power even when the bike is fully loaded.

Proven reliable in rain, mud, dust, and everything in between.

Wheels You Can Trust.

Every Rinos is precision-trued with TRUDI by Berd, the world’s most advanced wheel truing system.
That means straighter wheels, tighter tolerances, and absolute stability — so you ride faster, corner harder, and never lose performance to wobble or flex.

Sandman 7 - Product Page

The Sandman 7 features Shimano's GRX820 12-speed mechanical groupset, part of Shimano's second-tier gravel component lineup that combines technologies from both their Ultegra road and Deore XT mountain bike families. The 2×12 drivetrain uses a gravel-optimized 48-31T crankset paired with the Shimano CS-R8100 11-34T cassette, providing 24 distinct gear combinations. This configuration prioritizes closely-spaced gear steps for maintaining consistent cadence across varied terrain—whether cruising flat gravel roads, navigating rolling hills, or tackling steep climbs. The GRX RD-RX820 rear derailleur incorporates Shadow RD+ chain stabilization technology, using an adjustable clutch mechanism to minimize chain slap and improve chain retention on rough surfaces.

The complete GRX820 hydraulic brake system uses ST-RX820 dual-control levers integrated with BR-RX820 calipers, matched with Shimano's RT-CL800 rotors featuring Ice Technologies Freeza construction. These rotors use an aluminum carrier designed to resist heat deformation during extended braking. The brake calipers include increased pad clearance compared to previous GRX generations, reducing brake rub after heavy use. The GRX820 shifters feature Shimano's textured anti-slip coating on the lever blades and hoods, borrowed from their fishing product division for improved grip in wet conditions. The lever shape has been refined with a marginally narrower body to accommodate a wider range of hand sizes, particularly optimized for flared handlebars common in gravel cycling.

Built on a TORAY T800 carbon frame and fork, the Sandman 7 achieves a complete weight of 9.6 kg. The RINOS carbon handlebar and seat post work with the aluminum headset to create structural integrity while managing vibration transmission. The GRX820 crankset uses Shimano's Hollowtech II technology—a construction method that provides stiffness and power transfer efficiency while minimizing weight. The 48-31T chainring combination uses a +2.5mm wider chainline compared to standard road groupsets, specifically designed to accommodate wider gravel tires and improve mud clearance. The drivetrain runs on a Shimano CN-M8100 12-speed chain, originally developed for mountain bike use, featuring extended link plates for enhanced chain engagement and retention.

The wheelset pairs 38mm deep aluminum rims with Novatec 28H hubs, wrapped in CST 700×40C tires with sidewall protection and 60mm Presta valves. The bike includes 26 mounting points distributed across the frame for bikepacking bags and accessories. Available in five frame sizes (50-58 cm) across four colorways, the Sandman 7 accommodates riders from 155 cm to over 190 cm in height. The GRX820 groupset delivers mechanical shifting precision without electronic complexity or battery requirements, making it well-suited for multi-day gravel adventures, competitive events, or mixed-terrain training rides. Manufactured in the EU with included assembly tools and manual.
